Exmooor Natural History Society: Members’ Summer 2022 Events
|Wed. 6th April. 10.30 am: Meet at the parking area near Frackford|
Bridge, DUNSTER, (SS985432) for a gentle walk of less than two miles, along Knowle Lane retuning via the bottom of Grabbist Hill. There is one fairly steep, but short, upward section and boots will be needed as it can be muddy/watery even in dry spells. Leaders: James and Fiona Windle.
|Sat. April 30th MEMBERS’ COFFEE MORNING AT LUCKBARROW 10.30 am. All welcome, please come and join us and have a look around the nature garden at ENHS head quarters, Luckbarrow. Donations welcome!!!|
Sunday May 8th 3.00 pm Service at Lynch Chapel of Ease (SS904477). Followed by tea at Kitnors. Booking not required for this. All welcome, please come and join us.
|Sat. May 14th DAWN CHORUS WALK 5.30 am Meet Webbers Post (SS902439). Leader: ALASTAIR STEVENSON assisted by ANDY PYM. Followed by refreshments afterwards in the veranda at Luckbarrow. (Small fee for breakfast payable on the day).|

|Wed. July 6th 7:00 pm. MEET AT Luckbarrow for our traditional SAUSAGE SIZZLE. There will be a small charge for food, payable on the evening. PLEASE BOOK BY Sat. 2ND JULY. This will be followed by an optional walk at around 9pm to listen for Nightjars at Webbers Post and look out for Bats with James Windle|

|Wed. 10th Aug. 10.30 am. For a guided walk and talk about recent Beaver introductions at the National Trust Holnicote Estate. Meet at National Trust Holnicote Estate Office Yard SS909463. We will be Viewing the site and see beaver dam etc. Maximum of 10 at each visit; please book early to avoid disappointment. Please note: This tour involves a long walk from the meeting point and the site will be extremely wet, muddy and very slippery, and difficult terrain . Essential to bring wellingtons. |Programme for October onwards to be published in Autumn Exmoor Naturalist and we hope to include a Fungus Foray led by Sian Parry, and a Winter Bird Walk led by Eddie and Averil Allen. We may also be able to restart the Study Group Meetings at Luckbarrow.|
OPENING DATES AT PORLOCK WEIR CENTRE 2022
.We hope to be able to re-open our Natural History Centre at Porlock Weir this season on Thursday afternoons only from 2 – 4.30 pm.
