ENHS Spring and Summer Programme 2026

Note:  The indoor winter meetings in Minehead are to be in the Methodist Church Hall, The Avenue (just below the old hospital, opposite the Co-op and Car Park.) No need to book a place for these. No charge for members, entrance fee for visitors £3.  Tea/coffee served during interval.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS ESSENTIAL FOR SEVERAL REASONS (eg cancellation) THAT YOU BOOK A PLACE IF YOU INTEND TO COME ON ANY OF THESE WALKS OR LUCKBARROW STUDY GROUP MEETINGS. The Study Group meetings usually have a waiting list as space is limited, and if you later find you are unable to attend, please let us know so that the outing is not delayed by waiting for you. Wednesday 22nd April 05.30 am.  Meet Webbers Post TA24 8TB.(SS902439) for DAWN CHORUS WALK led by Alastair Stevenson followed by breakfast at Luckbarrow.  Small fee for breakfast, pay on day. Please book by 20th April with Fi Windle.
Saturday 25th April:       2.30 pm.  Our ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING at Bossington Methodist Church (SS898477).  Nominations for Executive Committee to be with the Secretary by 11th April, 2026. Cream tea to follow meeting.  Please come and support us.

Saturday 16th – Sunday 31st May. ENPA Nature Festival Events. Monday 18th May. 11.00 am Bossington Butterflies.  A 2.5mile butterfly spotting walk from Bossington Car Park (free parking for NT members). Please bring a picnic and drinks. Please book with ENP – free event but donations to ENHS and CareMoor are appreciated. Leader: Ruth Hyett. Friday 22nd May. 11.00 am. Talk on Swifts at Allerford Tea Rooms by James Windle. Wednesday 20th May 11.00 am. An exclusive visit to Doverhay Museum in Porlock to have a private viewing of the Porlock Marsh Exhibition for ENHS members. Please book a place for this event

Saturday 20th June  11.00 am. Meet at Malmsmead NT Car Park (SS791478)  EX35 6NU (fee for non NT members) for a stroll along Badgworthy Water to Cloud Farm, returning via farmland and Oare Church.  Bring picnic lunch.  Might be wet in places.  Approx 3 miles with a hill.    Donations £1 to walk through the farmer’s meadow.  Leader: Celia (Woody) Tickner.
Monday 29th June.  Meet at 11.00 am at Driver Farm off the B3358 west of Simonsbath TA24 7LH GR SS736406 for a briefing /update on the ENP project here.  This will be followed by a choice of walks to look at the habitat enhancement being carried out.  One walk will be relatively short and easy and the other longer.  Please bring drinks, food and wear suitable clothing and footwear.
Saturday 11th July. Walk to Porlock Marsh for a plant survey. Meet at 11.00 am at Bossington Car Park TA24 8HF (free parking for NT members and permit holders) Please bring a picnic and drinks as well as suitable clothing and footwear for this exposed site. Leader: Ruth Hyett.

Wednesday 5th Aug.  7.00 pm Sausage Sizzle at Luckbarrow followed at about 9 pm by an optional walk in search of Nightjars.  There will be a small charge for food.  Please book by Fri. 31st July.
